Shrink your Windchill vault size by 50% !!
|
Shrink your Windchill vault size by 50% with Fishbowl’s LinkPurge
By Rick Passolt, Fishbowl Solutions – rpassolt@fishbowlsolutions.com
Did you know that 40-50% of your Windchill Vaults are likely outdated viewables?
Many companies are using Fishbowl’s LinkPurge to flush outdated viewables, reclaiming about 45% of their hard drive space.
Smaller vault sizes are beneficial for many reasons. Some of the key items are:
- Lower Cost
- Easier Maintenance, Rehost, Backup, Restore
- Better Performance, Scalability
Contact us at plm@fishbowlsolutions.com to learn how LinkPurge:
- Freed up 5 terabytes of vault space for a leading provider of Medical products & services
- Reclaimed 16 terabytes of vault space for a worldwide leader in innovative equipment and solutions for the outdoor environments.
Windchill viewing is powerful and pervasive. This lightweight viewing feature is one of the big benefits of Windchill. However, many files are never viewed…and rarely is it viewed if it’s an old, outdated version. These viewables are taking up vault space and costing you money.
Fishbowl’s LinkPurge allows you to filter the viewables that will be purged. For example, LinkPurge can filter based on latest iteration, non-default representations, markup existence, by container, by date range, and more.
And if a user ever wants to view a Creo View file that was deleted, Windchill has the republish button right there in their user interface… the file is republished on the fly and available for immediate viewing in Creo View.
Is a Windchill Upgrade on your roadmap?
Contact us at plm@fishbowlsolutions.com to learn why LinkPurge should be part of your preparation plan. And you can request an Upgrade Quote from Fishbowl if you are interested in how our services and pricing stack up.
a valued PTC user, you’re invited to our Summer 2025 Savings Event—featuring great offerings on upgrades, renewals, and bundles across Creo, Windchill, and more. It’s a limited-time opportunity to enhance your toolkit, drive efficiency, and accelerate innovation

PTC Report Summary: Turning ALM Insights into Actions
|
Disconnected tools, misaligned teams, and constant firefighting - these are common challenges in product development. The PTC Report explores how Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) helps organizations resolve these issues, and now you can access a concise summary of the report prepared especially for the PTC community.
This summary distills the most important findings, so you can quickly understand how ALM translates into real improvements:
- For technical experts, it shows how integrated requirements, testing, and release management lead to fewer silos and more reliable product delivery.
- For managers, it demonstrates how ALM enables better decision-making, improved collaboration, and measurable ROI.
By focusing on both operational efficiency and strategic value, the PTC Report summary provides practical insights you can use immediately in your projects. It is not just theory
- it’s a clear roadmap showing how ALM adoption can transform daily work and long-term outcomes.

Run better design reviews with CoLab + AutoReview
|
Every engineer has been here.
The design review meeting that ends up being a "chase down last program's lessons learned" meeting. Then, jumping from PDFs to CAD to emails to Teams chats, it takes hours just to check off a few minor issues.
Not anymore.
With AutoReview, you can check your drawings and 3D models for the basic errors first.
👉Conformance to standards and guidelines
👉Inconsistencies in technical data
👉Conflicts with past lessons learned
Then, use the meeting for solving the big issues.
Let AutoReview do the basic checks, so your team can do more actual engineering.

CoreFace Update: SAP S/4HANA Cloud Connector is available!
|
We’re excited to announce that CoreFace can now seamlessly connect Windchill & Windchill+ with SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
👉 Synchronizing Product master data, BOMs, Documents, Change Master and even Production Routings has never been easier – secure, fast, transparent and configurable!
Highlights of the new connector:
✅ Clean Core using SAP Standard APIs
✅ Bidirectional Integration: Data flows work in both directions - e.g. transfer of parts lists, product master data and changes from Windchill(+) to SAP S/4HANA Cloud and back.
✅ No-Code configuration: Intuitive user interface for quick adjustments - without any programming effort.
✅ Broad range of functions: The first version already includes the most important functions. These are the creation and update of Change Masters, Products and BOMs. It is also possible to transfer Process plans which correspond to Production Routings including Operations and Sub-Operations in SAP. Other functions such as the transfer of Documents are also available. Further features will be added in upcoming releases.
With this release, we’re adding another important connector to CoreFace which helps companies to integrate their Windchill system with their ERP – taking another step toward true digital transformation.
